Hmmm , where do I start ?? ...Some films are not easy to review because an experience has to be experienced , it is actually hard to put it on paper . This is exactly what Kaminey is , an experience . Lets start from the beginning . The film doesn't take time out for introducing the characters one by one , they get introduced by themselves , by default . By the time titles would begin you would get engrossed in the film and the people who generally make noise during the beginning of the film in the cinema hall would get silent by the end of it .
Kaminey begins on a comic cum thrilling note . The comic side belonging to Guddu (the stuttering Shahid) and the thrilling side belonging to Charlie (the F ko F bolne waala Shahid - the lisping one) . Priyanka aka Sweety , the marathi mulgi , does her job well in the begining itself and director Vishal manages to give film an almost perfect start (have to say almost perfect bcoz there is no such thing as perfect :) ) . The lisping and stuttering would make you laugh at the characters but still establish that connect with them . One by one all the characters come into play and start getting connected with one another through a Guitar and a Girl . The girl being Priyanka Chopra .
Making life what it is(Kamini) around Guddu , Sweety and Charlie are characters like Bhope Bhau , Tashi , Mikhail , Lobo and Lele . All of them unique and all entangled in a complex world of chrime, money and power . The cultural diversity in the film is one thing to watch where Mikhail and his brothers are Bengali , Tashi and Lobo are Christians , Guddu who is actually Sanjay Sharma is a Hindu and Bhope Bhau and Sweety being Marathi .There are also some foreigners in the film .Bhope Bhau who is a true Marathi Manus and against all north indians has been briliantly played by Amol Gupte . He has done full justice to the character and has played the part of an aspiring politician who uses this "Marathi Manus Ideology" for getting a ticket to contest in the elections . His character has maximum weightage in the film apart from Shahid and Priyanka . The film is made up of these so many different Characters and it completely belongs to them . All characters are important and everyone of them has a mean(kamini) side . The director has even gone ahead and shown the mean side of a small Kid who also plays a very small and comic part in the film . Every character has been perfectly casted and it is these characters that make the film so strong .
Kaminey for its maximum length belongs to Shahid and it won't be wrong to say that it is completely his film . It is his best and most mature performance till date and his hard work comes across on the screen . He has worked really hard for both of the characters and has put up a fabulous performance . The two characters being completely different , Shahid has got a rare opportunity to express all different shades of a personality on-screen . His is the toughest part and to act that well shows his progress as an actor . He has already become the new superstar and now his acting skills would also get appreciated which would further increase his stardom for sure . Pankaj sir will be so proud of him after watching the film . Vishal has given him ample space to perform and he has delivered according to his expectations . Though Priyanka's part in the film was small but certainly a very important one and one that required great efforts from her too . She also has equally worked hard and given her best . She is just fabulous in the film and her chemistry with Shahid is something to watch out for . She plays this part of a crazy marathi girl effortlessly and would certainly make you smile . She is adorable and for that matter both Shahid-Priyanka as a couple are also adorable and look cute . They both are stars and of the type who can also act . Chandan Roy is also good as Mikhail .
I am trying to avoid myself from letting out the plot details because it is pretty exciting to watch them unfold one by one . The comic caper genre that Vishal has attempted in the film has worked like wonders . It is officially now first of its kind , opening the gates for many other Directors to attempt this genre also . The story is different to an extent but what is best is the treatment that Vishal has given to the story . The screenplay is great and there are several memorable sequences in the film . Some of them that come immediately to my mind is the sequence between Bhope and Mikhail(Charlie's Friend) , then there is one with the kid , the interrogation sequence and last but certainly not the least the climax sequence . The climax of the film is what you call 'climax' exactly and it is this part which decides the fate of the film . It is this part that will please the majority of the audience and would make it a sure shot hit .
Techinically also its a very strong film and the cinematography by Tassaduq Hussain is top notch . Several locations of mumbai have been shown in a never before manner and the sequences with Rains have also been shot perfectly . I have a thing for shots in the heavy rain and I just loved them in the film .The steady-cam shots which are on the move have also been done in a beautiful manner and are technically sound . The film's story spans just within a complete day and hence it moves at a rapid pace which is another plus point about the film .The editing department has done a great job in this respect . The music of the film is no doubt great and it also adds a lot to the film . Its a dark film but still is not that dark and suits the taste of Indian audience . The dialogues of the film are just great and have been written very well . The actors have very well delivered them too in the way they should have been .
I am trying my best not miss out any of the positive points from the film because there are just so many and this is also the reason that from the release of Omkara till date I have not written anything about the film because its tough . Regarding the negatives from the film , the only negative that I thought was that why very less time was given to fabulous characters like lobo, lele , tashi and mikhail . They were such interesting characters and the actors were also brilliant and could have given so much to the characters . The only explanation to this would possibly be the length of the film which had to be kept minimal for the general audience . One request to the producers and director , please release a Director's Cut of the film(at least on DVD) so that I can enjoy these characters at a full length .
Lastly comes Vishal Bhardwaj , the captain of the ship . Absolutely fabulous job ! kudos to him ! This one is a completely different film from Omkara and he has again done a great job . Omkara is a classic and it is hard to get over such a film . But he has not only managed to do that but also given this film a completely fresh feel , the only common thing being the characters which are so real and so on ground . Vishal Sir , please don't ever think of the censor certificate and keep making films as real as possible and let the censor board change itself . He has managed to do something that many have tried to attempt before but have messed up somewhere . He is an actor's dream director now for sure . Please continue working like this and bring such good and entertaining stories for us on celluloid . By the way the film also qualifies for the "Paisa Vasool" kinda audience and they will also love it .
Go watch it . Forget the swine for some time !!! :)
One personal opinion that I want to put forward in this review is that Omkara was more of Vishal's film than Kaminey is . It had so much more on the psychological level that had to be handled by him only and he did that in a way that actually bowls me over every time I watch that film . But I don't want to take anything away from him and Kaminey beacause the two are completely different kind of films .
Movie Rating : Four and Half Stars out of Five ; don't even think of missing it and Mumbaikars and Poonawaalas please wait and don't resort to piracy .

Kaminey --- Music Review
Dhan Te Nan , the music is out and the first song is already a big hit . Expectations are on a high , regarding both , the film and the music . The Dhan Te Nan has left people asking for more and now we finally have the entire album . Vishal last worked on "U Me aur Hum" which was a long time back and music lovers like me would love to see more of him . He has always given an outstanding score for his own films and his jodi with Gulzaar works like something . After Omkara the expectations are really high from the duo for this one . Well this one is a completely different album and I also tried to give it an unbiased view keeping the past completely out of my perspective .
The soundtrack opens with a blockbuster track "Dhan Te Nan" by the super-hit machine Sukhwinder along with Vishal Dadlani . Do I even need to say anything about this track which is already a big hit . The music on this one is probably the best on the entire album and Vishal has done a fabulous job for this track . Sukhwinder sings in his impeccable style and Vishal backs him very well . Both of them together have sung it almost perfectly . The thing to notice is the lyrics that are there in this song . Its really amazing how Gulzaar Sir comes up with these wacky lyrics nicely blending english with hindi . He has written the songs in today's language of India , the Hinglish . I mean take a look at this :
"Aaja ki One Way Hai
Yeh Zindagi ki Gali
Ek hi Chance hai
Aage Hava hi Hava hai
Agar saans hai to
yeh Romance hai"
This is just the first song and there is much more to come in the later tracks where his lyrics simply bowled me over . I mean this is the man who has written some of the finest Hindi songs ever and he can still come up with something new for our generation . Truly Brilliant . Overall , its a great track and has that 70's music element to it .
Next comes a completely different track "Pehli Baar Mohabbat" by Mohit Chauhan . This one is soft romantic song which has a bit of Rock feel to it . As a result it also has a western feel to it and it makes nice use of various musical instruments in it . Mohit sings this one in his usual style, the only difference being that he has never sung a song earlier which had a bit of rock feel to it . He does his job great and Vishal has also done his job good . The lyrics here are also very beautiful and innovative . A bit different but a good different . The song in all has a good combination of melody and lyrics and has been sung well by Mohit . Would look great in the film backed up by the chemistry between Shahid-Priyanka which is evident even in the still pictures from the film .
Then comes a song "Raat Ke Dhai Baje" which is in a way extension to the prior track and has a whole lot of singers in it . It has a more commercial tune and is completely different than the previous track . It has been sung by Sunidhi,Rekha,Suresh Wadekar and Kunal Ganjawala . The entire soundtrack is pretty much male dominated and if last time both Sundihi and Rekha got some great tracks in form of Beedi and Namak , this time they had to settle for this very average track which also had two other male singers in it . This song is more commercial in nature and has nothing much to offer . It would probably make much more sense in the film . This song is there in a wedding sequence probably as far as I could make out from the album graphics .
There is also a remix version of the same track towards the end of the soundtrack which is also pretty much the same with some more beats and effects in it .
Then comes a track which completely blew me and now I am thinking that why no one thought of this concept before , especially the NACO (National AIDS Control Org.) . This song , "Fatak" , talks about AIDS and in a way that is so creative and appealing . By the way the "Fataak" is the sound of the whip that symbolises how people need a whip sometimes to understand some things in life. Gulzaar sir has once again proved in this track that he is a true genius and he deserves a special award for this track alone . The entire track refers to AIDS as a 'Bhanwra' which comes in and doesn't leave so easily . Take a look at these lyrics :
"Jitna Bhi Jhoot Bole Thoda hai ,
Keedon ki basti da Makoda hai"
It also makes the use of the famous quote by Ghalib - "Yeh Ishq nahi aasan ... ek aag ka dariya hai ...aur dub ke jaana hai" . Gulzar sir has modified this famous shayari of Ghalib and made it into a social message of having safe sex ."Ek the Ghalib aur ek hai Gulzaar Saahab , dono ka koi jawaab nahi " . The modified version goes something like this :
"Yeh Ishq Nahi Aasan
Aji AIDS Ka khatra hai
patwaar pehan jaana
yeh aag ka dariya hai"
The music in the song is also great and it very well encapsulates the lyrics and the "Fatak" does its job well .Kailash Kher and Sukhwinder Singh sing it in a style which makes sure that the message goes out loud . Last time they were together was for the track in Mangal Pandey (Mangal Mangal) in which they did wonders along with Rehman . Here also they both do the same alongwith Vishal . Both Vishal and Gulzaar need to be complimented for coming up with such an innovative and socially relevant track .
Then comes the title track Kaminey by Vishal Bhardwaj himself . He alongwith Gulzaar have used the word "Kaminey" which is usually considered as a curse word in a really beautiful way . The lyrics might sound funny to a few but they have a very serious meaning to it . Vishal has composed this song beautifully and there is a part (from 4.15 to 4.40) in the song which is symphonic in nature and has been done beautifully by Vishal . I am wondering how this particular part would have been done on-screen . The entire song is a bit symphonic in nature but I loved this specific part the most . This track is also amongst the best on the album . Vishal is also a good singer apart from being a great music composer and director .
Then comes a theme music by the name of "Go Charlie Go" which is a full version of the "Dhan Te Nan" in the first track . It is a nice bit of music which would look great in the film . Since this is the main theme of the film it would play a vital role in the film and it is good enough to do the job . It is a fast upbeat music with all the "Dhan Te Nan" which gives it a Seventies feel very well .
The last time I heard a similar music was in Johnny Gaddar where Sriram Raghvan made a fabulous use of it .
Then lastly comes a remix version of "Dhan Te Nan" which has been done in a nice and different way . It is not like usual remixes and sounds really good . It has been remixed by Aftab Khan who does a great job . There are some extra English lyrics in this remix version towards the end which are by Dominique Cerejo who does a good job singing them too .
Overall , the album has delivered according to expectations and apart from "Raat Ke Dhai Baje" all tracks are good . One of the songs is already popular and some others would soon follow . Vishal and Gulzaar duo has worked again and this time it is a completely different album from the last time which sends a good signal that people need to move on from Omkara and give Kaminey a complete fresh look .
Album Rating : Four out of Five ; a very fresh and innovative soundtrack .

Kaminey Trailer --- Fu**in Awefome
Its been a long time since I have seen a crazy comedy and looks like this fummer my wish will come true through Kaminey . If you have not watched the trailer , watch it ASAP before someone else spoils the sun , oh I mean fun . After watching the trailer the one line that came to my mind was "Isko kehte hai Trailer" . I just loved the whole of it . Whether it was the music , Dhan Tadan Tan , or the look of the various characters , everything is so damn "sunny" . Just loved the way Piggy Chops said "to kya Rape kiya meine tumhara" . Watched the trailer so many times but her dialogue still makes me laugh . And who thought Amol Gupte could act . He is Bhope Bhau and certainly looking like one . All the names of characters are also quite unique and funny sounding , Charlie , Guddu , Sweetie , Mikhael , Lobo , Lele and Tashi .
The tag line of the film "Difcover your Mean Fide" is also quite funny and I just loved the way they changed every S into F . Now that the trailer has raised the expectations , I hope Vifhal Bhardwaj delivers the Goodf . Shahid and Priyanka are looking great and looks like they are going to blaze the screen with their chemiftry .
Can't wait for the film now and again its UTV and Ronnie Fcrewwala :) who is the producer of what looks like an another good film . Ronnie has the best in his kitty and looks like Yashraj need to learn something from him .

What's Your Rashi --- Teaser Poster review
Ashutosh Gowariker's next project , What's Your Rashee , is under production right now but the poster is out now and usually I don't write about the posters until and unless something strikes me about it . What struck me here was the lack of creativity . The poster is nothing but a sunsign chart with nothing related to film apart from the name of the cast and producers .It looks more like a colourful Dart Board . I expected a little more creativity on Ashutosh's part who has made films like Lagaan , Swades and Jodhaa Akbar . I remember distinctively the way the poster and trailer of Jodha Akbar was launched and this contrasting behaviour shows that may be he is not that excited about this film . I can understand that the film doesn't have a Hrithik,Aamir or SRK but then he could have put a little more effort in it .
The film stars the disastrous couple of 2008 , Priyanka-Harman , and I just hope their Rashi's are in perfect positions while the film releases . The poster does lack creativity but I hope the film doesn't . Ashutosh please make sure that at least the teaser trailer is good . I remember very well the buzz that Jodha Akbar's poster created on the web and I hope you take these small things a little seriously else any rashee won't be able to save the film ...And by any chance if you read this post then I'd like to tell you that Lagaan should have won the Oscar ..screw the Academy , the film is a masterpiece in itself . I loved all your films even the 3.5 hrs long Jodha Akbar . The West can never understand films like Omkara and Lagaan which are purely Indian ..

Billu Barber -- Music Review
The long awaited film of Priyadarshan and SRK that starrs Irrfan Khan in the lead , Billu Barber , is finally ready for release and the music of the film is out now . The film has been produced by SRK's Red Chillies Productions and that means this project means more to SRK than anyone else . This film is again a remake of a south film which has been already made twice in Malayalam and Telugu . The Telugu version called Kuselan recently released having Rajnikant playing the part which SRK is playing . The film still failed at the box office and its failure raised some concerns for SRK and hence this film also got delayed . The original Malayalam version , Katha Parayumpol and the telegu version both have been written by Sreenivasan . Billu Barber was first supposed to release before RNBDJ but got delayed and now it is releasing in February . The film also stars Lara Dutta and several other Priyadarshan's usual like Om Puri and Rajpal Yadav etc.
Well ,Talking of soundtrack , it consists of Fifteen Tracks in total out of which Seven are original and eight being remixes . The remixes again outnumber the originals on the soundtrack but good thing is that some of those have been sung by different singers so sound a little different . This time it is Pritam who has done the job and lyrics are by various artists . The soundtrack is for its majority a commercial one and when it comes to commercial music there is no one better than Pritam for the job .
The first track on the soundtrack is , Marjaani , which is already on-air and generating the hype for the film . The song as you all now has Kareena in it along with SRK and has some usual fun and frolic . The lyrics on this one are by Gulzaar and are as expected good enough to make this song a hit . The lyrics and music together give it a popular feel and the song would work for sure among the listeners . Sukhwinder and Sunidhi do a good job as usual and Sukhwinder is one more reason why this song could get popular .
Next comes , Love mera Hit Hit , sung by Neeraj Shridhar and Tulsi Kumar . The lyrics on this one are by Ashish Pandit and Mayur Puri who do a good job and made the lyrics pretty catchy . Pritam also does a good job and gives it a commercial tune which makes the song even more catchy and makes it a potential hit . This one starrs Deepika Padukone and SRK , shaking legs together . Neeraj sings it in his usual style with Tulsi giving him good support .
The third and the final track which again has a guest appearance of Priyanka Chopra in it , You Get Me Rockin and Reelin , is a a little on the slower and sensual side . The song has Priyanka and SRK getting cosy and trying to set the screen on fire . If you don't know then let me tell you that all these three songs are a part of a film which is shown to be shot in Billu's village . Since these songs are shown a part of a film in the film itself the Director has made an effort to keep the songs as commercial as possible because SRK is shown as a commercial superstar in the film . Still , this song is pretty melodious and doesn't sound like usual commercial songs . Neeraj does a fine job singing this one and makes sure that it sounds different . The lyrics on this one are by Sayyed Quadri who does a good job .
After this comes a very very commercial track , Ae Aa O , which would look good in the film only and would make more sense in the film . The song would probably be featured when SRK first comes to the village and it would be somewhat of a introductory song . The lyrics on this one are by Neeraj Sridhar and it has been sung by KK ,Rana Mazumder & Suraj . The song in all is more film oriented and doesn't make much sense apart from it . KK surprisingly has been offered such an average track which anyone could have done .
The fifth track , Jaoon Kahan , is completely different from the previous four and is a sad song which has been written by Sayeed Quadri who does a great job on this one . The song features Irrfan Khan who as we all know is a brilliant actor so he might make you feel really sad through his acting . The lyrics are really good on this and reminds of "Jag Soona Soona Lage" from Om Shanti Om . Like that one this has been also sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who again does a great job . Pritam has also done a good job and given it a nice and simple tune . The song is a complete package of good lyrics , music and singing . Such songs gain popularity much more after the film releases and I am sure with the release of the film this one also would get much more popular .
Next comes a very different and Desi track , Billu Bhayankar . This one has some very interesting piece of lyrics written by Gulzaar Sir himself and he again proves his expertise in the "Thainth Desi" language after songs like Kajrare and Bidi Jalayle . This one though is not a item song like the previous two but that doesn't mean that it lacks any fun . This one is a fun track from the word go and would be real treat on screen , I am pretty sure about that . The track talks about Billu Hajam the central character . This track would definately remind you of Khaike Pan Banaras Waala which had a similar feel . Pritam has done full justice to the song and given it a very pure desi tune to it . The biggest role in such songs as you know is of the singer and his/her accent . And on that front Ajay Jhingaran , Raghuveer and Kalpana do a commendable job .
Next comes probably the most melodious and lyrically rich song , Khudaya Khair . This one has been written by Gulzaar Sir . This song and the third track on the album , You get me rocking , have somewhat same lyrics and I don't know which one is the original one . Still , this one is much more melodious and some extra lyrics in this one that are there add much more to its beauty . If that one had a little western feel to it , this one has none . Pritam has done his best on this as compared to the other songs on the album . The female parts that have been sung by Akriti and Monali sound really good . Soham does a good job singing the male parts but for me Neeraj would have suited much more . This is the song that was there in the first trailer of the film and I am sure this one would be featured on Lara Dutta (my favourite) who is looking really beautiful in the promos . I am happy that she got the best track on the album .
Then starts the series of Remixes and first one is the Video Edit of Rockin n Reelin . I didn't find this one any different from the original one in terms of music . This one though has Dominc Cezaro siniging some female parts . If you remember Dominic made her debut in Rock On with " Yeh Tumhari Meri Baatein ". She does her part well . Rest all is the same .
Then come remix versions of "Love Mera Hit Hit" and "Marjaani" which have been remixed by DJ Amyth and Kilogram K&G respectively . Both the remix versions have usual fast pace tempo and some extra english lyrics . Nothing great about them as such and good for clubs and discs . The remix version of Mar Jaani has been sung by KK and Akriti Kakkar so KK fans won't get disappointed .
Next comes a reprise edition of "Khudaya Khair" which has Abhijeet giving vocals and rest all is the same . The song doesn't suit him that much as much it did to Neeraj and Soham . This one being a reprise edition is a little slow . If this was not enough there is one more remix of "You Get Me rockin n reeling" which again is a basic remix with higher tempo and usual DJing .
Then there is a remix of Ae Aa O , I don't know why . The original track itself was a little weak so this one doesn't make any difference . One more Marjaani by DJ Sunil and Spinz who remix the original track and do a good job . This is the pick among the remixes . Then there is a remix of Love Mera Hit Hit which is better than the previous remix of the same song .
In all , its a nice soundtrack with a mix of commercial tracks and good tracks like Khudaya and Jaoon Kahan . It also has very different tracks like Billu Bhayankar . The only thing that was a put off was the long list of unnecessary remixes that made me change my mind for rating the album . I was going to give it a four stars but the irritating remixes which are just too many made me change my rating . In all , the soundtrack has increased my curiosity for the film and I am now even more eagerly waiting for the film . The film in my opinion would be a nice film that would be liked by all .
Album Rating : Three and Half Stars out of Five ; Great soundtrack with a nice mix of different songs .

Dostana --- Movie Review
Dostana , the last film for Abhishek and Priyanka this year brings a lot of expectations along with its release and the expectations are also from Dharma Productions who are also back after a long time . So do we get what we expect from the team ? The answer would be a Yes and a slight no along with it . Yes because it is entertaining enough to get your money worth and no because it is not a flawless product . Dostana as the name suggests is about friendship and its different avatars. The film addresses that central theme effectively to an extent but in a little different way . By now everybody knows that the film has Abhi-John playing a gay couple and the film as a result focusses majorly on the homosexuality that they act out in front of Priyanka . The title of the film is Dostana yet the film focusses more on Gay Jokes for its length rather than the friendship part . The good part though is that the Gay jokes are at least funny enough to make you laugh throughout .
The film starts off with a Super-Hot song Shut-up and dance in which Shilpa sets the screen on fire with her hot bod and her dancing skills . She builds up a good youthful momentum in the beginning that makes it quite clear that the film is only for young blood . She probably looked hottest of them all and she is still a hot property . As soon as the song gets over we get to see the the two guys in the film flaunting off whatever they have to please the female audience or should I must also say even the homosexual male audience . Together they put up an image of the youth of today very effectively on screen that focusses more on enjoying the life as it comes in the best possible way . Both John and Abhishek become friends as a result of a co-incidence and then they act out their homosexuality to get an apartment to live which is actually owned by Priyanka . Priyanka allows them to live with her only because they are homosexuals . Then starts the whole sequence where both Abhishek and John hilariously act as a gay couple and also in the meantime keep hitting on Priyanka individually .
There is also a twist with a third guy , Bobby , that drives most of the second half . As I said earlier that the film's first half majorly focusses on Gay jokes and hence the story gets a little side-lined . Yet the first half is very entertaining because it is quite well acted part and hilarious . It makes a lot of fun of the Homosexual's which might offend them to an extent . The story is a sort of an extension to "Deewana-Mastana" story . Just like that one, this one also has a third guy , just the set-up has been updated and has been taken to Miami . One more common factor between both the films is that both are pure entertainers with very less emphasis on content . The film has some typical illogical things that any Entertainer has and sometimes we have to overlook them to enjoy the film . The film can be best called as a "Modern Entertainer" and though it follows the path of a typical entertainer the presentation is different and new .
The first half is brisk and has enough content to make it very much enjoyable whereas on the contrary the second half is a little slow and has very less to offer . It ends in a typical style and there is nothing unexpected about it . The entertainment quotient in the second half is a little less and it is just good enough and doesn't spoil the show . The film ends on a comic note which makes the audience leave with a light heart in the end . Some of the songs in between are quite a turn off and they disrupt the film's pace , especially "Ma Da Ladla" .
Talking of acting , the chemistry between Abhishek and John was much better than what Priyanka shared with any of the guys . Abhishek delivers a fine performance and has majority of the role . Priyanka and John serve as nice eye candy along with a little bit of acting . Priyanka looks great in the film and her looks attracted the most . She doesn't have much of a role and her acting was also very typical . There was nothing romantic for her to act nor it had something comic for her . He role was very limited in the film and though her character is the central one yet it is the guys that have done most of the acting . John can very well take Salman's position as a guy who knows a little bit acting and looks great . When everyone was showing some skin in the film Abhi was cladded with clothes , he just did the job of acting and that too was an average performance . Priyanka can do much better and she has struck a nice balance with Fashion being entirely focussed on her and this one being a commercial film . There is also a small cameo by Boman Irani and he does his job good . But I felt that the Director , Tarun Mansukhani , could have used him in a much better way considering his great acting skills .
The locations and art direction were good as any Dharma Film has and even the choreography of the songs was great . The cinematography was good but nothing exceptional about it and the background score was great . It uses the piece from the track "Jahan Teri Yeh Nazar Hai"(Kaalia) in a very nice and funny way in the background . The film's music is good enough to hold the film and Desi Girl is a rocking song . The Direction by the debutant director Tarun Mansukhani is good and he pulls off a good entertainer in spite of the fact that it was a little low on content . He has created some good comic sequences and has done a fine job overall .
Overall , its a nice entertainer with a little different set-up . It would keep you entertained for its length and looking at the commercial elements of the film it looks like it will work a lot on the box office and would also get decent ratings . The Director makes a nice first attempt and can certainly do much better provided he has a better and stronger script . Go watch it and get entertained .
Movie Rating : Three and a Half Star out of Five ; Nice Entertainer with good Packaging .

Fashion --- Movie Review
First things first , I am not too much into Fashion nor have I ever attended a fashion show . Still as an outsider I have a perception about Fashion Industry and that perception has been developed only through what I have seen and read in movies and on television . So this review is a comparison of my personal perception of the fashion world and what Madhur has shown in his film .
There is no doubt that Madhur is amongst the best film makers in our country and he has always made some meaningful cinema , mixing facts with fiction . Now what I don't like is the fact that he sometimes fictionalizes more rather than showing the actual truth which in a way makes a very wrong impression of a certain profession on the minds of general people . He has been given a Tag of a person who makes Realistic cinema by the "media" which itself mixes fact with fiction everyday and serves it to the general people . The question is just how much is enough ? Here Madhur is somewhat different from media in general which is just overdoing the sensationalising of news . Madhur brings out a blend which is fictitious enough so that general audience pays a little heed to the point he is making . His cinema can be best called as a "Realistic cum Commercial" cinema .
He has picked some four or five incidences out of the fashion industry and made a film out of it by adding some amount of fiction to it . The problem is that the 4-5 incidences based on which he has made the film are just a one off incidences and are not a regulation in the fashion world and this is what I believe which may be wrong . The biggest thing to note here is that first of all Fashion industry in India is not big enough and nobody cares who the model is in India unless it is a bollywood celeb . The trend though is catching on fast and may be in future we might see a full fledged Industry with a higher presence . The Fashion that is there presently is just limited to Delhi and Mumbai and rest of the people don't care that much about the brands . Still , this film can serve as a great Eye Opener for all the girls that aspire to become a Model and would think twice before taking any wrong decision that could ruin their life .
The fashion industry has always been Women's forte and even this film is very Women centric . Most of the strong characters are female and men are there just playing the supporting characters . But the message that the film sends out applies to all the people , that it is not easy to earn some name and fame in any Industry . You need a lot of Mental Strength rather than the physical to reach the top is what this film shows .
It has been seen in History and also said by many people that when one person rises there is one more that falls along with his/her rise . This is the concept that Madhur has used in his film and it is Priyanka that rises and Kangana that falls . The whole process of falling down is faced by Priyanka also later and she has the mettle to balance herself and regain her position whereas Kangana never makes it again . During the entire story the various steps of any modelling career have been shown by Madhur in an accurate manner but it is the first half of the film that stands out . The first half is very tight and the story moves at a fine pace in the first the half . It is in fact so strong that viewer in a way feels that he has almost seen a film in the first half itself . This point is a positive and a negative in itself . The audience expects an another similar second half but here Madhur fails to an extent and gives a little slow and loose second half . He should have instead cut down the length of the film and made an almost perfect product .
There is a part of the film that also talks about Homosexuality in a serious tone but it also makes fun of it largely which is not so responsible on Madhur's part . But he has shown the truth , in a good or bad way , doesn't matter . All the things that are behind the glamour is what Madhur has focussed on but he has done so with a microscope and picked out something that may not be true in all situations . The stakes are not that high in present situation in Fashion industry contrary to what Madhur has shown in his film . Fashion Industry has always been restricted to a few set of people in India and it still doesn't get enough Media coverage . Though the coverage has increased over past few years it is still restricted to Half Hour specials on News Channels which focus more on Bollywood celebs and that too only in fashion weeks .
Talking of performances , Priyanka gives a fine performance as a model and she represents herself as an upcoming model quite efficiently on screen . Priyanka will feel nice considering few of her recent films were quite a dull affair . She did look like a model rather than a film star and also pulled it off quite naturally . The thing that struck me most was the way Kangna did her role , the crazy part would have been easy for her since she has done such roles earlier also but the modelling part was what surprised me . She worked quite a lot on her modelling skills and she did look like a model . Her character though was a stereotype character and didn't move me that much because everything was very much predictable of her character . In fact the whole film is pretty much predictable and Madhur hasn't shown some secret thing that might blow your mind . Any aware person would know all the things that are shown in the film and it would appeal only to a lay man more . Mugdha Godse had the third most prominent female character and she also acted very well considering it was her first time . The other characters were also played by some fine actors like Kitu Gidwani , Arbaaz and Sameer Soni who do a great job anyways . Harsh Chhaya is one of my favourite actors and he does a very small but a fabulous role as a designer .
The cinematography is good but nothing extraordinary and the art direction is also good . They have shown some of the finest ramps on screen . The extra models were also prominent ones and they also make the whole modeling scenario look quite professional . The direction and script of Madhur were good but not that good . The screenplay is quite loose of the second half and it spoils the show to an extent . Its good that the Producers UTV invested a good sum of money for this film else it would have turned out pretty bad on smaller scale . Madhur does manage to show a more fictional rather than real fashion world but he doesn't over do it which makes it watchable even for a niche audience . Some of things in the film did resemble from some of the sequences in films and TV series of west that surrounded the Fashion industry .
Overall , the film is a good enough to be watched once and a change from the usual films that we see .The second half is little slow yet watchable . Nothing in it makes it a national award wining film but it still might get a critics award in some of the other awards . I don't know what industry is left for Madhur to explore since he has done all of them except underworld which his Guru , RGV, has done so many times and probably in a much much better way . He still can make a film on Politics which is also a Industry in itself more than national service . But I've heard that Prakash Jha is making a film called "Rajniti" so probably Madhur would have to look for some other industry in the economic times . Madhur if you are reading this , I like your Direction very much and I would love to see a Murder Mystery coming out from you ..I think you might pull off a classic in that genre.
Movie Rating : Three and Half out of Five ; for the fantastic first half and great acting performances .

Dostana --- Music Review
Its been a long time since last film of Dharma Production has released and music from them is always great , no matter how the movie is . Their last film , KANK , though didn't do well but still its music is one thing that shows one quality of Dharma Productions that they have a great taste and knowledge of music and even if the movie is below expectations sometimes , music is always at par . So they are back with Dostana which will hit the theatres soon . This time though its Karan's assistant Tarun Mansukhani in the director's chair . If we consider that Karan didn't interfere in the Direction then as a producer he at least would have definitely sat in Music seatings for the film . The music this time though has been given by Vishal Shekhar instead of SEL and Lyrics are by Anvita Dutt Guptan and Kumar . The film as we all know by now is based on story of three friends with hopefully some pleasant twist .
Lets talk of the music now . The album consists of Six Original tracks and no Remixes(Thank God!!) . The first song on the album "Jaane Kyun" though is not the title track but very well puts up the entire theme of the film . The song very well portrays the feeling of friendship and has a very nice tune attached to it . The song has been sung by Vishal Dadlani himself and has lyrics by Anvita . Anvita does a good job and has put up a nice blend of Hindi and English Lyrics . Vishal also does a nice job in singing and the duo have also composed it quite well . The tune basically is pretty much western and so is the entire feel of the song . No Indian tunes or pieces in it . Vishal has also sung it in a different fashion . Overall , the song is a nice blend of music and lyrics and backed by good singing . This song would get most popular from the entire album and hence is my Pick of the album .
The second track on the album is "Desi Girl" which is a trademark Vishal-Shekhar track which has Desi-Videsi Cocktail . I am personally not a fan of such tracks and we already got a taste of such tracks in Tashan and Bachna Ae Hasino soundtracks . Such tracks are not meant to be listened , you can just dance on them without listening them . Still , the tune is not one of those that can make anyone and everyone sway to it . The lyrics by Kumaar are an average affair and quite commercial .Shankar and Sunidhi do their usual in Singing dept. I don't know how this song will feature in Miami where the whole film is set-up . I hope they don't have a situation where every Firangi is doing a Bhangra with our leads .
Next comes a Punjabi Track (one of the Four Pillars of a Bollywood Soundtrack) , "Maa Da Ladla " . This Punjabi track has some modern Bass Beats of a Disco and no Dhol in it . A modern Punjabi track with average piece of Lyrics . The lyrics in-fact have nothing to offer and neither they are that catchy . But you never know , if "Bhootni Ke" of Singh is Kinngh can work so can "Ma Da Ladla" of Dostana . Saleem who sings the song has a nice Punjabi voice and sings it well . Overall , a track that I would prefer to listen in the movie itself . Nice pacy tune for dance lovers .
The fourth song on the soundtrack is "Shut Up and Bounce " . If you have seen the first trailer of the movie then you would probably remember the groovy music it had . Well , that was from this song . I must say that when I heard the music in the trailer I was pleasantly surprised but I was quite disappointed when I heard the song on the CD . The whole music is really good but the lyrics have nothing good to offer . I can say that a very good tune probably wasted due to improper lyrics by Anvita . One more thing to notice is that apart from the piece that was in the trailer the whole song has very average music and some basic beats only . In any case , the song is good only to an extent and probably would be liked by people at large due to the bass in it . Another disco track and has some nice singing by Sunidhi Chauhan . Overall , the track is good but could have been much better .
The next track on the album " Khabar Nahin " is a little on the slower side and also on the romantic side . The song has very nice guitaring through out by Sanjay Divecha but apart from his guitaring the tune is pretty much basic and nothing so great about it . The lyrics by Anvita are good and Vishal again does a good job singing . He has been very well supported by Shreya and Amanat Ali . The song in all is a nice one and has some nice guitaring in it . The guitar lovers would like the guitaring in it .
The last rack on the album is again a slow soulful track "Kuch Kam" . It stars off with very less music on Piano and then later slowly some basic music beats are put in it . This one again is a Romantic track which gives a hint that the movie would start off with all the fun and masti and would finally end on a Romantic Note . This song has been composed well by Vishal-Shekhar and they have kept it pretty basic . Shaan sings quite well as usual and his fans would love this track .
If you have noticed , I've repeatedly used word "Basic" in the entire review . I don't know , the tunes and lyrics made me use that word . I found the entire album pretty much basic stuff and nothing extraordinary was there in the entire album . Only the first song "Jaane Kyun" is a winner all throughout . The two slow songs in the end are good but not extra-ordinary . The other songs are good for parties etc. I was expecting a lot since it is an album from a Dharma Productions film . Well , those of you who don't know , there is a special appearance of Shilpa Shetty in some song probably . I couldn't figure out which song it would be . But one thing I couldn't understand , what is Abhishek , the flabby , doing in between all these hot people (Piggy,John and Shilpa) ? No offence Abhishek , I like your acting but dude try to look like your contemporaries . Even your seniors (Shilpa) look much younger than you.
Overall , its a nice album and can be listened to . Jaane Kyun and Khabar Nahi are the pick from the entire album . Good part is that the album won't damage the film and would give it some boost only .
Album Rating : Three out of Five , Jaane Kyun being the best and all songs being good.

Drona --- Music Review
The music of yet another fantasy flick Drona is out in the stores now with just 20 odd days left before the release of the film . Drona as I said in my earlier posts is a testing film for Abhishek and his star power . The film's music has been done by Dhruv Ghanekar who has done a decent job as a newbie . The Lyrics are by Vaibhav Modi . The movie has put on stake a lot of money and work since it has been into making since past few years . The soundtrack consists of Seven songs in total out of which Five are originals and Two being the remixes .
The first track on the album is the title track which has been mainly sung by Dhruv . This track is a fast paced track that kinda gives an introduction of Drona . The lyrics are very mediocre and even the basic tune is just good . The overall music is good but it has no newness to it . The tune is good but not good enough for a title track . This matters more since this song would feature in the background in several important scenes in the film .In my opinion there should not have been a Title track instead they should have kept some theme music . The song has a nice pacy nature to it and I hope even the movie has so . It should not be a Fantasy cum Melodrama . Overall the song is nice but could have been much better . The singers have not given much to the track and its music only does most of the job .
The next track on the album is "Oop Cha" which is on air these days . The song is a techno friendly one but the lyrics and music are very old sounding . This one sounds like those strange South-Indian songs which have even stranger videos . The lyrics are very amateur and have actually done no good to the song . The oop cha goes well with the tune but the tune itself is not that great . These kind of songs look good in the film but are not meant for listening purposes . Still it can be heard once . Sunidhi , a sincere request , please stop singing such songs !!! You have much more talent than this . Why waste it on such songs ? Let new girls sing such songs . You can find typical Sunidhi in this one and even she does her job like always .
The third song on the soundtrack is "Bandagi" which is a little better than the previous two in terms of both lyrical content and music . The vocals on this one are also by Sunidhi and these are the type of tracks that she should now focus on . She sounds really good in this one as compared to the previous track . But the Sunidhi of "Bhaage Re Mann" of Chameli was still missing . This track is more on the slower classical side and also has vocals by Roop Kumar Rathod who sings quite well . The song has been composed in an interesting fashion by the composer and has given it quite a modern classical kinda feeling . Overall this is the pick from the entire album .
The next track is "Nanhe Nanhe" by Sadhna Sargam which is a very slow track . This track makes me believe that this film would have a melodramatic angle and the last thing that I would want to watch is a Masala-Fantasy film . I just hope that even if there are some emotional scenes they are not done in typical old style and are put in a nice way . The song has been sung nicely by Sadhna Sargam and has a nice tune also . Overall again it is a nice but can be avoided kind of song . Would sense more in the film along with some situation .
The last track on the album "Khushi" sounds like a song straight out from the musicals by Disney . Even some of their Cartoon Films have similar songs . This track also has glimpses of Nanhe Nanhe in it . It is more a of a Jazz Band kind of song that were quite popular in the Hollywood's Golden Days . Those who love Jazz Bands might like this song a little bit . A poor attempt mainly because of the very amateur kind of lyrics . They more sounded like a Hindi Translated version some of English track .
Then come the two remix tracks of the album out of which the Redux of Drona comes first . A very usual kind of Remix which has been sung by Sundhi instead and is almost same as original just with few DJ beats and effects . The last track on the album is a Remix of Oop Cha which is even more techno friendly than the original one . Nothing quite extraordinary about the track .
Overall , the album is nice but has not even a single song that can be called a winner . The song Bandagi is the best on the album but still is an average track . The lyrics are probably the weakest point in the entire album . The album in whole has not much to offer and would work more in the film rather than on its own . All the songs are just about average tracks with same old music .
Album Rating : Two out of Five Stars ; Bandagi being the best .

Drona Vs. Kidnap
The second of October this year will have two films battling it out for their fate on Box-office. The first release being the long awaited Drona which according to Goldie Behl is not a superhero flick and is an Indian Fantasy Adventure film . The film has been long in the making and has no buzz around it as such . The promotion of the film hasn't started in a full fledged way yet but whatever has started looks quite dull . Even Abhishek doesn't look excited about the film and is currently on his world-tour , far away from his film . This is the second Directorial venture of Goldie after Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai which was a box-office dud . Though the budget of this one is much higher and the star-cast is also stronger the film itself is not creating that excitement in me for it . I am not a big fan of Abhishek and even Priyanka is getting quite repetitive these days . Abhishek's looks are always a problem and he doesn't even do anything about it . The Music of the film is yet to hit the stores and a lot will depend on it . The trailers and rushes haven't given any taste of the music that would be there in the film so nothing can be said about it . A lot is on stake in this film for Abhishek as Sarkar Raj was a multi starrer and also wasn't appreciated that much among both critics and audiences . This film will show the solo star power of Abhishek since no big name is attached to this film apart from him and Priyanka . No Big Director like Mani-Ratnam or Big Producer like Yashraj so a lot will depend on him .
Giving this film a very tough competition would be Kidnap . Fresh out of the success of Jaane Tu .. Imran Khan is riding high on the success wave and at present provides more attraction than Abhishek . The promos of Kidnap are also better than Drona and hence an initial interest in this film is much more than that in Drona . This film is Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi who has tasted success earlier in both the Dhooms . So it can be said that he has an experience of creating "Dhoom" among the audience . Sanjay has also done nothing apart from the Dhoom series . So this can also be considered as his second attempt . Though Dhoom was produced by Yashraj and hence Aditya had an influence in those films , how much we don't know . We might know after Kidnap releases . Still , Kidnap is produced by Ashtavinayak which is also a good production house so production quality won't suffer .
Imran is playing a slightly (or completely?) negative role so people would definitely wanna watch that out since he played a good-boy in Jaane Tu. The music of the film also looks good . The second promo of the film features one of the songs which looks and sounds quite good . Apart from this the film also has Sanju Baba who is also a crowd pulling factor for the film . The female lead is played by Minissha who is looking quite hot and has already proved her acting skills .
For now , there are lots of positives in favour of Kidnap and it looks quite strong on Paper . Whereas Drona is looking quite dull and doesn't have that energy in it . People like to see young energetic performances these days and a young cast of Imran and Minissha would certainly provide that . Priyanka is also on streak of flops and dull movies so that is also not gonna go in her favour . Both Abhishek and Priyanka look more enthusiastic and fresh in the promos of Dostana which means the fact that Drona being released so late is also going to go against it .
Overall , I am looking forward to see Kidnap on the second of October which is a national holiday and hoping for the best for Drona . Which film are you going to watch first ?

Chamku --- Music Review
After the Musical Hit Album of Saawariya last year , Monty Sharma is back with Chamku this year . The fact that he has talent has been proved last year and his music still occupying the space on Music Channels proves the point further . He is back with Chamku , a film starring Bobby Deol and Priyanka in the lead and Produced by Dharmendra . The film is Directed by Kabeer Kaushik whose first Film Seher (starring Arshad Waarsi and Mahima) was a box office disaster .He is starting afresh after that with this film whose Music has been given by Monty who is also one film old .
Talking a little about the album , it consists six tracks in total with five originals and one remix version . The First track on the album is Aaja Milke which is a romantic number and on air these days . It has a very nice romantic tune in it and hence it is getting a little popular . The song has been mainly sung by Shreya Ghoshal in her sweet voice and supported by Shail who gives her good company . The song has very beautiful and soulful lyrics by Sameer who has done a good job . There is very fine use of Saxophone pieces in between the verses of this song. The tune basically has nothing new but the lyrics and soulful singing of Shreya have done the trick and it makes the song appear quite new and romantic . Monty has very well understood the mood of the song and has provided full justice to the lyrics and the song in general . Shreya is brilliant as usual and steals the show in this one .
Then comes the best track on the album , Kithe Jawan , by Richa Sharma which is a core Punjabi track with a sad feeling attached to it . This song reminded me of the hit song "Lambi Judaai" from the film Hero (and not the latest one from Jannat) . That song is one of the best song which is based on "Judaai" (Separation of Lovers) . But what was best was the way in which that song had been sung by Reshma . That song had a very sad feeling attached to it and was sung very passionately by her . This song also belongs to that genre where Richa Sharma has done the job . Richa is a terrific singer and she sings Punjabi songs really well . The last time I remember that Richa had done such a fine job was in "Ni Mein Samajh Gayi" from Taal which is an exceptional song . Richa has once again spread the magic of her voice and done an exceptional job in this one . The lyrics of this song by Sameer are again great and much better than Sameer's usual work . Monty has given fabulous treatment to this one and has understood the mood of the song very well . He has given it very modern yet contemporary treatment which makes it a treat to listen . Kudos Richa , Monty and Sameer for this one .
Next comes Gola Gola by Abhijeet and Vaishali Samant . This song also reminds you of those folk songs from Rajasthan which are quite fun to hear and also sometimes have great lyrics . This song has an Authentic Indian tune and even the singers have sung it in typical folk style . The song though doesn't have that powerful lyrics yet the tune and singing style are enough to carry the song on their shoulders . The song wouldn't hinder the pace of the film and if shot beautifully the song would be treat to watch . This song might not get that popular but would certainly look good in the film .
Next comes a trance music by Monty with vocals by Saleem , Soumya and Anaida . It has a very nice trance feel in it according to its name and probably for the first time I have heard an Indian Trance Music. The song very well incorporates some fine Indian instruments into the Trance music of the west . The vocals in between are also quite good and the song would look good in Background . The Arabic lyrics have been very well sung by the Singer and the whole song would really sound great on a good music system and even better in the Multiplexes .
After the Trance music comes "Bin Daseya" which is a lounge version of Kithe Jaawan . Since the original is such a great song even this one sounds good . This lounge version might appeal to certain people more than the original one but I prefer the original one . This version is quite nice and nothing fancy about it . It would sound good at a Lounge or a Pub . Monty has put in some nice effects in this one and hence has done a good job once more .
Then comes the last song on the album Dukh Ke Badri which is again a slow song but that doesn't make it anything less . It is again a fabulous song and has a very different music than other songs . This one doesn't sound like typical slow songs and has nice music pieces in it . The song has been sung by Kalpana and Parthiv and Shail have given her company . This song sounds really nice and might look even better in the film . The singing by Kalpana is of top quality and she gives a nice competition to Richa's song . The song has some very nice Lyrics and they have been given full justice by the singers and the composer .
Overall , this Album is highly recommended and Monty has once again proved that though he works less but he is going to stay for a long time in Bollywood . After a long time an album has came that has all the songs quite slow and soulful . If you love fast music and music with beats then this one is not for you . This is very much on the slower side and yet it is a great album . The film has not much of a Hype around it and even the title is little weird and hence the music won't gather that much audience . But after sometime the songs are bound to work especially after the release of the film . The music is fabulous and I just hope even the movie is as good as the music . I hope the script of the film is as strong as the Music .
Album Rating : Three and Half Stars out of Five , Quite Different then the usual that we get to hear these days .

Dostana --- Teaser Trailer Review
The next film of Dharma Productions after their infamous KANK will hit the cinemas in November this year . The first teaser promo of the film is out now and from the looks of it another blockbuster is on the cards . This time though Karan has just produced this baby of Tarun Mansukhani . Since this one comes from Dharma Productions the Budget has to be quite high and the movie would also be a full blown commercial one . The teaser gives a taste of whats in store this November . For the ones who don't know the film starrs Abishek , John and Piggy Chops (Priyanka Chopra) .
The film is set in Miami (Florida) so a change of location from Dharma's favourite New York . The film looks as cool as the spirit of the city and would be targeting the Youth at large . Karan has already said that this Dostana has no resemblance with the 1980 hit of same name which was produced by his dad . The only resemblance is that this is also a story of three friends , two guys and a girl .
Well , the teaser starts off with the usual - "From The Makers of " and then the list of films by Dharma Productions over the past few years with the Music of Kal Ho Na Ho in the background . Strangely "Kaal" was missing from the list , maybe because it was not a pure Dharma Productions film . Well , after the slow soulful music of Kal Ho Na Ho suddenly starts a groovy youthful score and the mood of the trailer changes from depressing tone to a lively one . Then we get to see introductory shots of all the three main leads with everyone looking hot apart from AB Baby . With Priyanka in super hot and sexy swim suit and John flashing his six packs they set the screen on fire backed by the terrific background score . Karan would have for sure flown to Miami to see Piggy in a Bikiny .
After this comes the only Dialogue in Trailer where John says that he and Abhishek are a Gay couple which is a lie . The whole story starts with this lie and how this lies gets stretched into truth and the life after the lie . After the dialogue there is a whole sequence of scenes from the film where Abhishek and John do some homosexual acts and tickle our funny bone with their expressions . The Trailer ends with a three framed scene showing all the lead in their avatar . The chemistry among the three leads looks great on screen and a lot depends on that for the success of the film .
The teaser trailer is great in every sense and much much better than Abhishek and Priyanka's October release - Drona . Piggy is super hot and Abhishek might once more face a Media lashing on his looks and fitness compared to other stars . This one creates a lot of interest amongst the audience and people won't be able wait for three more months before the film releases . I am not sure how many of you remember this but Teaser trailer of Kal Ho Na Ho was a treat to watch . In my list of best trailers it ranks quite high because of the fabulous music it had and the rapid moving scenes that were quite in sync with the Music and the famous Heart Beat music of that film . That one had scenes which were not in the film and SRK had delivered some fine lines in that one . This teaser is not as good as that one but still it is a great one and it will for sure create a big element of interest about the film.
Interestingly there are lot of big releases before this one and the Teaser has hit the theatres quite early . I don't know what is the publicity plan of Dharma but I hope it is a good one . It should not be like that the teaser has been released and then its after one and half month or so that people get another dose of the film . The teaser has been attached with Bachna Ae Hasino (another dud by Yashraj) so look out for the trailer in the film or check it out here only :

Drona --- Trailer Review
The second Superhero to hit the Bollywood scene , Drona , is all set to please the audience after the very successful Krrish . The first trailer of the film , which has been into making since a long time , is out now and the rushes look just usual . The film has been Directed by Goldie Behl who is husband of Sonali Bendre and this is his biggest project . The film starrs Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead . Priyanka probably has a thing for superheroes and she would be the only common thing between them . I hope we get to see a combined version of Krrish Vs. Drona fighting it out for Piggy Chops (Priyanka Chopra) . lol .
Anyways the trailer starts off with a Blue Petal flying into the windows of some apartment (poor graphics there , in terms of international standards) and then there is a dark locality shown which continues in the trailer for some time . Then we get to see Abhishek getting trapped between some Demons made of sand and a line like this goes - " When the survival of mankind will hang in the balance one man will rise and realise his destiny " . There is also a dark look of the Bad Guy which is played by Kay Kay in the starting of the trailer . Then at the end of the trailer we get to see the real Drona in his outfit riding on a horse . The already fat Abhishek looks even more fat with the strangely made costume . This is supposed to be a Indian Superhero so probably he won't wear the Nylon Skin-tight Suit . Instead he will wear a loose and fat looking Cotton Costume . Abhishek also carries a Sword which has some inscriptions on it and the sword is very much similar to the sword that his Dad AB Senior holds in the trailer of Talisman (CGI loaded next film of Amitabh based on Chandrakanta) .
Then at last the name of the film comes "Drona" in a golden colour font which is similar to the Font that was used in the title of Rangeela , the only difference being the colour . You might wonder what difference does the font make , but guys it does create an impression . The name of Krrish was presented in a never used before Font on screen and it looked great . Even the first Teaser of Krrish gave me Goosebumps to a little extent in the theater , this one didn't even excite me visually .
Krrish didn't work because of the special effects but it worked on the story and direction . This is one thing that Rakesh Roshan realised as a wise Director that he cannot spend a huge sum on VFX so he worked hard on the Story and background score . The background score that features in this trailer is very much Spiderman Superman type just with strange sounding Hindi lyrics . The background score that was used in this trailer was not at all good if you ask me . The Visual Effects also didn't please me that were present in this trailer . The sand creatures have been already shown on-screen with utmost perfection in Mummy Returns and Spiderman 3. The effects that are used here are of much lower level than what was used in the hollywood flicks . So why use same sequences that require top notch VFX that any Indian film can't afford and can't produce on its own ? Do something original and which is within the reach of Indian Special effects company .
Overall , The trailer didn't excite me at all and neither did Abhishek's look . The trailer isn't sufficient to create the interest amongst the audience , they might need something more . I hope the story and Direction are better than the first trailer of the film . The film set to release on October 2 . Check out the trailer :

Trailer Review --- Chandni Chowk To China and Fashion
The first teaser trailers of two upcoming movies of the year , Chandni Chowk to China (CC2C) and Fashion are out now and both the trailers show a glimpse of a promising film , one being pure entertainer and other being made for the classes . CC2C is Directed by Nikhil Advani who gave us films like Kal Ho Na Ho and Salaam-e-Ishq , both being mega-budget entertainers and Fashion is by National Award wining director who gave powerful films like Page 3 and Chandni Bar . CC2C is one of the most awaited and mega releases of the year so we'll talk about it first .
CC2C as the name suggests is a film with two cultures and the two most rapidly growing nations China and India . The film is the first ever production of Warner Bros. in India who are one of the Biggest name in Entertainment Sector Internationally . The film Starr's Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone who are looking very different in the rushes and in a pleasing manner . The teaser starts off with two Chinese explaining something to Akshay in Chinese which he doesn't understand and gives a funny look which at once makes one thing clear that this one would be a comic entertainer with lot of jokes on Cultural Differences . Then starts off a series fast moving scenes from the film showing the rest of the cast and also some of the action sequences in the film . The teaser also features Ranvir Shorey and Mithun Chakraborty who also look very much Chinese along with deepika who is looking the best among all . Deepika is also shown doing some stunts so it won't be Akshay alone who would be doing the Martial Arts moves . The martial arts choreography is by Huan-Chiu Ku who has worked on films like Kill Bill and Lethal Weapon etc. in Hollywood . So it looks like we will get to see Akshay in his real avatar on-screen for the first time . The teaser also has a great music piece playing in the background which is a fusion of Hindi and Chinese Music which makes it sound even better . The movie is releasing around Diwali and it looks like the film will definitely have some fireworks for the audiences .
Overall , the teaser is a must watch and it has been attached with Dark Knight (which is a fabulous movie) or you can check the trailer at the official website of the film :
http://cc2c-thefilm.com . Watch out the trailer and leave your comments here on it .
Talking a little about the film , it has a budget of around 50 Crores so the quality of Production would definately be high . The film surrounds a cook from India which is played by Akshay who is mistaken as a re-incarnation of an ancient peasant warrior Liu Shengh by Chinese people . The story looks quite interesting and it has been written by Sridhar Raghavan who has earlier written film like Bluffmaster and Khaaki . Deepika plays a double role in the film , most probably one would be Chinese and other being Indian . She has been given a fantastic make-over which is visible in the teaser . Looking forward to a smash hit this Diwali . I hope it turns out to be full entertainer and better than Nikhil's last attempt .
Now lets talk a little about the trailer of Fashion which Starr's Priyanka Chopra and Kangna Ranaut . The trailer shows shows a glimpse into the Fashion world and the film will try to show whats behind the Glamour of the Fashion world . Madhur is known to make Women centric films and his films have Strong female characters . Fashion is Bhandarkar's most ambitious project with an estimated budget of 22 Crores .
The teaser starts off with a line which says that in Fashion World one has to give up more than one's Morals . The teaser shows Priyanka who is a wannabe Supermodel and Kangna Ranout who is already a supermodel showing their Modelling skills . Priyanka is from a modelling background so she knows a little about it so she would do some justice to her role and Kangna is a fabulous actor . Though she has no Modelling background but still she might end up acting better than Priyanka . I've seen Directors having an edge towards Darker characters and they sometimes make them even better than the Positive Characters . The film will show the fight between an established model and a rising model and the Game behind it .
The teaser has fabulous background music which is a typical Fashion Show music used brilliantly and the scenes also show the glamour of the fashion world . The teaser ends with Priyanka saying that you never know what can happen in Fashion World . The trailer definitely leaves its mark on the viewer quite strong and it does look like a promising film .
Ronnie Screwvala (UTV) is the Producer of the film and he has spend a good amount on the film . They are planning to release around 1000 prints of the film which makes it a big release of the Year . The movie looks good one and might turn out to be a surprise hit of the year like Page 3 did .

Love Story 2050 --- Music Review
The most expensive sci-fi flick of India , Love Story 2050 , is all set to release next month but the music is out now . The music is also quite techno friendly , I mean ,it has a lot of use technology i.e. computer generated sounds and variations that usually a DJ uses in his/her remixes . The Film is sort of comeback for lot of people after long time . The list includes Priyanka Chopra , Anu Malik and the Director Harry Baweja , all of whom last worked a long time ago .
Talking of the album , the First song on Soundtrack is "Milo Na Milo" which starts by a little dialogue between Priyanka and Harman . There is a lot of talk that Harman is a near copy of Hrithik Roshan in terms of Looks , Dance and Style . And I would like to add that he even talks like Hrithik and it felt to me that he is faking it , he really doesn't talk like that . His voice is also little childish like that of Jugal Hansraj and everybody knows what happened to him . Well , talking of the song , it is no doubt the best and the most balanced track of the album . I always use the word "balanced" because a nice balance of melody and lyrics only makes a track hit . And this track would no doubt be the most popular track on the album . Anu does a fabulous job in this track making it quite sci-fi in sound also . Apart from music director people forget the job of Arranger and Tubby-Pari here have done a great job . The lyrics are also good as usual from Javed Akhtar and the the song is well sung by Shaan .
The Next track on the album is Meelon Ka which is a very melodious track and is slower from the first one . Anu Malik has got a good melody for this one and it is much like the track from Jaan-e-mann - Humko Maalum Hai . Anu has once again made use of the western symphonies to make a good track and you can distinctly see similarities between this track and humko maalum hai . Though Humko Maalum Hai was a big hit , this one might not get that popular but might look good in the movie . It also has shades of Ajnabi Shahar from Jaan-e-mann which again was a brilliant track . This one is sung by Kay Kay and interestingly sonu is missing from the entire album . Though Kay Kay is a fabulous singer and has done great job on this one but still he is not as good as Sonu . Probably , Sonu might have sung this one even better . Alka Yagnik has also done a good job and the Lyrics are also good but not exceptional .
The third track on the Album is the Title Track "Love Story" and it also has little dialogues in the starting by Harman and Priyanka and Harman again sounded like a kid . The melody on this track sounds like it has been lifted from some other song from past , it doesn't sound new . This song is not as good as a title track should be and won't get that popular but it is also not that bad and would suit in a romantic situation in the movie . Lyrics are fine and it has been well sung by Shaan .
The fourth track again starts with the childish sound of Harman Baweja . "Sach Kehna" is sung by Kunal Ganjawala who had last given a great track with Anu which made him an instant hit - Bheege Honth in Murder . This one is total opposite of that track and has nothing for Kunal in it . Typical commercial track with some latin tunes in it and nothing new about it , just a little more bass .
The Fifth track , thank god , doesn't start with a childish voice and has only priyanka in it . "Lover Boy" is sung by Alisha Chinoy and its tune is again picked up from somewhere and it has vintage Alisha in it . This one sounds like some track of Alisha's album of the early Ninety's that never got released . It also has a tune pretty much similar to Mortal Combat tune just a little bit slower . The track is below average since Alisha has sung some great songs recently like Kajrare and Dil Ko Hazaar Baar (Murder) . Typical Anu Malik track with no lyrics and no melody .
The Child is back again in the Sixth track , I mean Harman who again talks like a small kid in the beginning . "Mausam Achanak" is a softer track and has good lyrics in it . The music is also average and nothing exceptional . But the track sounds good and has some good singing by Shaan and Alka . Alka Yagnik's all songs sound similar . I am sure the video of this song would feature some beautiful cinematography and VFX in it . So , the song would look even beautiful if it will have some good cinematography and visual effects (VFX) in it .
The last original track on the album is Aa Gaya Hun Mein by Kay Kay which again has vintage Anu Malik in it and same old tune with just some extra bass beats to give it a disco feel . The lyrics are nothing to take notice of and Kay Kay has done usual stuff .
This one also has nothing new and Anu fell short in this one also .
Then there are two slower versions of Love Story and Meelon Ka which are as good as the original ones . These are the two tracks(original ones) that are pic of the lot and the Third being Milo Na Milo .
Top 3 Tracks :
- Milo Na Milo .
- Meelon Ka .
- Love Story .
Album Rating : Three out of Five , for its good commercial value .

Love Story 2050 --- Trailer Review
The movie that is supposed to be the most expensive sci-fi flick of Bollywood ever , Love Story 2050 , will release this summer . The Teaser promo of the movie is out now and the visuals are exciting but the content is not . The movie stars Harman Baweja , son of Harry Baweja who has Produced and Directed films like Qayamat , Main Aisa Hi Hun , Yeh Kya Ho Raha hai , Girlfriend etc. If you look at the list of films closely , all are inspired from Hollywood Cinema , Qayamat from The Rock , Main Aisa Hi Hun from I am Sam , Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai from American Pie etc . So one thing is for sure that Love Story 2050 would also be inspired significantly from the west .
And the promo proves my point . It starts with Boman Irani being shown as a Crazy Scientist who works Hard to build a time machine and finally makes it . The Time Machine shown in the promos is an exact copy from the film of same name and Priyanka uses it to travel to the future Mumbai . Then the movie takes a 42 year leap and goes to 2050 and the world changes totally . Then starts a series of visuals showing the glimpses of movie and in fast motion . But what appears from those visuals is that it is a mixture of all the sci-fi movies made till date with a little Indian masala in it . There also two kids in the movie so the movie will attract Kids for sure And since there is no big summer release it may attract audiences to a large extent . Even the background score is inspired from the west with inputs from Evanescence -Bring Me to life .
The movie no doubt would be focussed on Harman Baweja since its his home production . Harman has been kept under wraps since a long time so that people see him only on the big screen first . During entire trailer he has been not shown clearly and only rushes of him can be seen . But at end of the trailer Harman is shown with a Tagline going this way -The Future is Here . He is been shown in the trailer as if he is already a big star and I hope his dad has not done the same in the entire movie . In my opinion his first impression wasn't that effective and the tagline that "Future is here" is too heavy for him . He looks good but not as good as Hrithik . But on the other side even SRK didn't look like a superstar in his earlier days . What matters is that how well one connects with the audience and that depends entirely on his Acting skills and overall personality , so nothing can be said just with a look . I hope he is the future because there are no young male superstars in Bollywood today apart from Hrithik .
Priyanka looks good and it would be interesting to see the on-screen chemistry between the two main leads as their off-screen chemistry has been quite in news .
Overall , the trailer is good but it didn't excite me as much because it is too much influenced from the west . Something original and of smaller scale would have excited me even more . One thing that will make this movie a success is its Scale . The movie has been made with a huge budget but still from the rushes it doesn't look at par with the west . Lets hope that the mixture of Hollywood Sci-fi is good and it can be great also .
